MCC member and MTR event coordinator Cara McAlister joined former U.S. Congressional Candidate Candius Stearns for the National Republican Congressional Committee Meeting. In Cara’s own words….

“I had a very nice time in DC. We went to NRCC policy panel discussion, lunch and a reception where Kelly Anne Conway and Secretary Elaine Chow were mingling and spoke. There were supposed to be the congressional leaders there but they had a vote then. After we went by big buses to the National Building Museum. Our table was right in line with Trump’s microphone and only 3 tables back! So, I saw him quite close. There were hundreds of people there. Congresswoman Liz Cheney came over to talk to us. I told her about our mid-terms. We were close to Speaker McCarthy and Steve Scalise and saw many others but sat with a congressman from Alabama. The St. Regis is very elegant. Yesterday morning we went early to the basin to see the cherry blossoms in bloom and the MLK and FDR memorials. I walked to the White House for a visit. It really hit me how much Trump has given up for us. He is sort of like a prisoner now. He was great. It was kind of surreal. “

Congratulations Cara on your opportunity to sit in on this exciting event!
